Remembering Charles Edward Burton

Charles Edward Burton, born June 23, 1955 in Minneapolis, died on February 2, 2003 in Johannesburg, South Africa after a short illness. He is survived by his daughter Katherine (12) and son Benjamin Burton (15) of Minneapolis.

Charles Burton was president of Good Grains International Inc., an international trading company created to serve third world farmers in South America, Southeast Asia and Africa. The project he was working on before his death was FAITH (Feed Africa Internally Through Help) to develop low cost grains to feed poor populations in Africa. He was also working on a low-income housing development project in Johannesburg.

Charles graduated from Minneapolis Central High School in 1973 and attended Macalester College where he majored in East Asian Philosophy. He taught Introduction to World Trade at St. Paul Vocational Institute and traveled extensively on agricultural trade missions to the Philippines, South America, Southeast Asia and Africa.

Memorial service was held on Friday March 14th, 2003 at 11:00A.M at the Masonic Temple, 3832 4th Avenue, South Minneapolis.

We miss you brother, but we will keep the faith.
